About 1st Step Sports

1st Step Sports is an independently run sports coaching company. It was set up in 2005 by myself Paul Jones (PJ) to help support schools & local children by delivering quality, safe & affordable sports coaching.

My Staff & I have over 5 years of coaching experience behind us whether it’s teaching P.E within the National Curriculum in schools or in the community with holiday clubs & evening clubs.

All Staff are fully qualified by the Football Association & other relevant sports bodies, & regularly attend child protection & first aid courses. We are also police & CRB checked every two years.

1st Step Sports is a local company with strong links to clubs including Newmarket Town Youth Football & Burwell Tigers F.C, we currently work within the Forest Heath, St Edmundsbury & East Cambs areas. We are also involved with Suffolk County Council on various sports projects throughout these areas.

We are very aware of the increasing obesity levels in children & believe in trying to provide quality, safe sports coaching to help combat this national problem. Our courses are tailored for boys & girls of every ability & we try to make every session & club as fun & relaxed as possible.
