About 1st Step Sports
1st Step Sports is an independently run sports coaching company. It was set up in 2005 by myself Paul Jones (PJ) to help support schools and local children by delivering quality, safe and affordable sports coaching.
My staff and I have over 5 years of coaching experience behind us whether it’s teaching P.E within the National Curriculum in schools or in the community with holiday and evening clubs.
All staff are fully qualified by the Football Association and other relevant sports bodies, and regularly attend child protection and first aid courses. We are also Police and CRB checked every two years.
1st Step Sports is a local company with strong links to clubs including Newmarket Town Youth Football and Burwell Tigers F.C, we currently work within the Forest Heath, St Edmundsbury and East and West Cambs areas. We are also involved with Suffolk County Council on various sports projects throughout these areas, and are looking at linking up with organisations such as Cambs FA and Cambridgeshire County Council to deliver more projects in your area.
We are very aware of the increasing obesity levels in children and believe in trying to provide quality, safe sports coaching to help combat this national problem. Our courses and holiday camps are tailored for boys and girls of every ability and we try to make every session and camp as fun and relaxed as possible.

We are currently looking to employ a part time qualified and CRB checked sports coach and dance teacher within the schools that we teach in, as well as holiday work.
