Schools & Teachers
What 1st Step Sports has to offer:
With the government now promoting healthy active lifestyles within schools and in the community, we believe that one or more of the many services we offer would be beneficial to your school.
Please take a look through the services that 1st Step Sports offer to schools:
Extra Curricular Activities - Aimed at school years 1-8 these activities could be anything from Football to Tri-Golf, or even a multi sports club incorporating 3-4 sports in a 6/12 week course. The courses are designed to fit around the school’s and the parent’s needs, whether they are after school clubs- running up to 6:00pm or early morning clubs- from 8:00am-9:00am. These extra curricular clubs co-ordinate with the government’s plans for extended schools. Lunchtime clubs are also available.
These clubs are all free to the school; all we require is the use of the field/playground/indoor hall. Your School is also able to use the DCSF Pathfinder Funding to pay for these courses to help take away the financial burden on the parents.
P.P.A Cover - Delivering structured P.E lessons to all children, as set by the National Curriculum guidelines for physical education. We work closely with the school and have even assisted with their end of year reports on the children. We offer very reasonable prices on P.P.A cover all tailored to fit the schools needs.
“I have known PJ for several years now, and he has always been a real pleasure to work with. Paul has a lovely way with the children, and the children in turn really love working with him. He is also a wonderful role model for our children. He is enthusiastic, kind, caring, polite and always fair. He cares about what he does and has really improved the standard of PE in our school. We feel very fortunate to have him as a member of staff at our school” - Wendy Fincham (PE co-ordinator At Moulton Primary School).
Fundraising Events - This may include penalty shootouts, ‘Keepy Uppy’ challenges, Basketball shooting, or Tri-Golf games. These events won’t cost the school a penny, 65% of the amount raised goes to the school, with the children all receiving certificates and prizes for their efforts. All of the above events, plus many more could be available for the school fete.
“PJ of 1st Step Sports organised a brilliant penalty shoot-out for our school. The children and parents were really enthusiastic and we raised over £1000 towards P.E Equipment and a Traversing Wall” - Mrs C.P Easting Head Teacher at Hartest Primary School.
“I am writing to thank you for sending Paul Jones to cover beat the goalie at the summer fair. He did a fabulous job! The children particularly enjoyed beat the goalie and it helped us to raise £2331.35. We thank you very much for supporting our school and local community.” - Mrs Helen White, Chair of Haslingfield School PFTA, 29th June 2011.
“The Hauxton School Association would like to thank you for supporting this years festival, which raised £1500. One of the largest contributions was the Grand Prize Draw which relied on the great prize 1st Step Sports kindly donated. We genuinely appreciate your support towards helping our children and the school over the course of the year.” - Jackie Wall, Hauxton School Association, 21st June 2011.
Football/Sports Camps New!!! - We have organised and operated these camps at schools during Summer Holidays, Easter Holidays and Half Terms exclusively for the children at that school. On occasions, children from other local schools have attended. The parents of these children were asking why there wasn’t more run at their schools. The use of the field, one room and toilet facilities are all we require to run these camps. We also make a donation to the school for letting us use the facilities.
“The Easter and Summer hols would not the same without PJ’s football and golf camps at Moulton School, Moulton, Newmarket. Whatever the weather, PJ has been predictable in the organisation and skills he brings to the events. The days are a great outlet for energetic kids, providing for skills improvement and social development within a friendly, professional environment. PJ is just the role model our kids need today” - Jayne Sherwen, Friends of Moulton School Association.
